User domains when hooked to an Active Directory server

My company is migrating our OpenFire server to a different server where the server is hooked into our windows Active Directory server via LDAP naturally. Now it appears that all of the buddies that have been saved on each of the clients is something like @ but to prompt the migration we would like for the buddies to be hooked to the full user name listed in Active Directory so it’s something like @ so the buddies are not hooked to the OpenFire server.

it would require extensive manual editing of the database. every instance of the old name would need to be replaced with the new name.
