User(s) unable to connect to Exodus

But as i understood from previous posts, you have already tried to login without encryption? Or not? I mean, have you tried to disable SSL at all on server side? Maybe Caitlin should try that.

Server > Server Settings > Security Settings > Client Connection Security - change to Optional or Custom: Not Available (both)

Caitlin, as you are asking how to regenerate them, so do you have them already? Maybe just self-signed certs will do? Then you can generate them (or delete and generate again) in Admin Console.

Server > Server Settings > Server Certificates

I used this URL http://www.akadia.com/services/ssh_test_certificate.html

It was straightforward and easy to follow. Rather simplistic but I didn’t want to dig into it unless I had to.

So it’s a self signed. It’s much easier to hit one button in Openfire Admin Console to generate self signed certs.

I guess I am really obtuse cause I don’t see where I could do that. Perhaps a quick walkthru?

No worries, glad you got it working OK. Certificates, whether self signed or signed, can be daunting if you haven’t played with them before.

As i have mentioned in 20 message in my answer for Caitlin, you should go to Server > Server Settings > Server Certificates in Admin Console and then you will see:

One or more certificates are missing. Click here to generate self-signed certificates or here to import a signed certificate and its private key.

Of course, if you don’t have any certificates yet. Then you can click first ‘here’ link and certificates will be generated. Then you’ll have to restart the server (again ‘here’ link) and that’s it.

oh. Hmmm, it’s not terribly intuitive I am afraid.
