Users can't see their own groups

I recently migrated from Openfire 4.4.4 to 4.9.2. At the same time I updated the MySQL server I use with it from around version 5 to version 9. The migration seemed to complete successfully. All users and groups came over with passwords, etc. intact. We have 23 groups and 172 users.

However, we have discovered that many of the groups cannot see their own groups, nor the individuals within them. Most can see all the other groups that have shared their contacts but cannot see their own for some reason.

I have attempted to delete users out of groups, recreate groups and re-add the users, but that didn’t help. I also attempted to delete users completely and then add them to new groups. That initially seemed to work better but in short order stopped working as well.

Anyone ever experience this before? Are there any new settings within 4.9.2 that would impact this? I am seeing this with both Spark 2.8.3 and 3.0.2. I have a mixture of client versions in our environment. Could that be the culprit?

Thank you.

In Openfire admin, go to your roster groups and disable and re-enable roster sharing.

Thank you! That seems to have resolved the issue.

Good morning. So the original solution DOES fix the issue, but unfortunately only temporarily. I am finding that I have to do this procedure EVERY morning or the group cannot see their OWN group. They can see all other groups that are shared but not their own. Very frustrating. Any idea why this would be resetting every night or whenever? I am at the point where I am about to start a new database from scratch, but it will be a pain because I have 170+ users and 20+ groups.
