Whats the use of jiveID Table?

Hii,

Can any one tell me what is the purpose of jiveID table in jiveMessanger ?? It has description that “used for unique ID sequence generation”, but I don’'t understand whats the use of unique id, if we have unique user name.

i think i got it…

unique id is used for creating new groups, rooms, rosters etc…
