my openfire version : 3.6.4

systems information: MS win2003 sp2 Standard Editon

use mysql 5 database

i had copy coherence.jar, coherence-work.jar and tangosol.jar to [openfire_home]/lib.

what can i do ?

Thanks!

this is openfire clustering Installation

step 1

Get Oracle Coherence for Java Version.

step 2

Unzip the coherence file and locate coherence.jar, coherence-work.jar and tangosol.jar in folder coherence/lib.

step 3

Copy coherence.jar, coherence-work.jar and tangosol.jar to [openfire_home]/lib.

step 4

Restart Openfire server.

step 5

Copy clustering.jar into the plugins directory of your Openfire installation. The plugin will then be automatically deployed.

on this steps i don’t understand the step 2 ,the folder “coherence/lib” need be builded in openfire folder ?Or anywhere ?

Thanks !

Server - CentOS 5.5 x86)64

Openfire - Openfire 3.6.4

Coherence - coherence-java-v3.5.3b465.zip

When you download oracle coherence you must unzip it. Uppon unzipping it, you will go to the folder it creates to locate the files… in my case

$ unzip coherence-java-v3.5.3b465.zip

$ cd coherence/lib

Within these directories you’ll find the files you need, you’ll copy them to your openfire/lib directory (wherever you have it installed). Mine is a CentOS RPM installation of openfire, so…

$ cp coherence.jar coherence-work.jar tangosol.jar /opt/openfire/lib/

Then restart Openfire.

Regarding the errors, I notice that the documentation doesn’t mention anything about firewall rule requirements. IT should be noted that port 8088/tcp is the port used for the clustering communication, and is required to be open in your firewall.

I get a great many of errors after enabling clustering, namely:

Now… I didn’t see any explicit instructions in the coherence archive about licensing or registration, and the download was free… so I don’t know that there’s anything wrong or OK with that end of things. It does appear the the clustering is working, as it reports enabled and two nodes are membered.

Also it should be noted that this is a demo XMPP architecture for me. hostnames xmpp1 and xmpp2 in my domain. I do have an active openfire managed jabber domain for the exact same domain name currently, and the corresponding service records pointing the xmpp services to that server - should I update these to reflect the demo cluster? Also what settings should I use with the cluster… because I’m sure I wouldn’t use a single server service record architecture, and probably using some weighting. Some help here too would be appreciated.
