Please help me and tell me where to start. I’ve downloaded the Spark IM, but it is asking me for a username and password and a server. What server is this? And where can I find any documantaton on Spark? Like a quick start guide or something like that?

Is this server something I have to install? I have a gmail account, so do I use my gmail username and password? What do I use for a server?

It depends on what exactly you trying to do. If your wanting to set up your own instant messaging server, look at Openfire from this site. It’s pretty straight forward to set up.
