With Openfire 3.7.0 is there a way to configure xmpp ports in openfire.xml?

I am brand new to openfire - so appologies if this question is elementary.

I would have thought I could configure my openfire.xml and get a modification in my xmpp ports upon restart.

I see where I may change the database directly, as well as modify these through the web interface, but I need a programatic approach and I’d rather not execute SQL commands.

Hum - also once I configure my openfire.xml ldap section - I see it writes information into ofProperties - if I stop openfire and change something like my baseDN and restart - the ofProperties table does not change and I do not get my new baseDN - when is openfire.xml read/utilitzed?
