Lame? Now that’'s a tad harsh. Please keep your suggestions, criticisms and comments professional.
Concerning the markup syntax we find that it’'s much faster once you become used to it as marking up a section of text no longer requires you to move your hands away from your keyboard to your mouse and back again. You may still get your buttons for b/i/u though I suspect that the once the gui editor is enabled you should find it satisfactory.

Let’‘s say it’'s unconvinient (though i get used to manual markup in other forums). But you never know if you would want to mark some parts of message after typing it. So then buttons would be more convinient.
I’'ve added this feature request to my todo list - it should hopefully be in the next build uploaded to this site.

markup is not working as it should
i think o in bold should be bolded always not just when it isolated with spaces
bold ? Lol, the RT editor does convert it to * * … and now one can insert emotions and use evil text colors. I would disable all bright colors asap.

I actually disagree. There are lots of places where you might use * characters such as in coding where you wouldn’'t want bold formatting.

One other major reason why I don’'t want to implement this is that it
causes some serious difficulties for profanity filters if they have to
account for all the possible embedded wiki syntax in words. Profanity
filters already are difficult enough to implement - I don’'t want to make
it even more difficult.

So how can i emphasize one single letter or a bunch of them in a word? CAPS? Forums are mostly used for writing texts not codes. And there are/was a separate tag for code inserting here. Finally you can make other tags instead of *. I’‘m looking from a simple forum user’'s perspective.

enabled for individual users, only for the entire system by an
