4.9.0 status issue

Upgraded from 4.7.5 to 4.9.0 and user statuses are not updating (seemingly randomly). We have users that are online and on their Spark it shows online but other users see them as away. If the other users restart their Spark then they see the user is online, and it’s not always the same user that is having this issue.

Hi Dennis! I’m sorry you’re running into this. Some other people are reporting the same issue, but we’ve not been able to reproduce it ourselves yet (or otherwise experience it). Anything specific on how to trigger this issue would be most welcome.

We’ve added a ticket in our issue tracker for this issue: [OF-2820] - Jira

Is there anything I can look at on the client/server log side to try to gather more info?

Well, I restarted the system (with no other changes) and the clients couldn’t connect. Windows firewall was off so that wasn’t an issue) even though the service was running. I reverted back to 4.7.5 (It’s a VM and I had a checkpoint from before I upgraded) and it’s working as normal. I may play around with it off hours to see if I can upgrade again.

Other people have attempted to do that, but have not been able to identify anything relevant.

What would help us most is if you can come up with some kind of procedure that always leads to the problem.

Not sure how. Only thing I did was upgrade and then the issue started. All clients are running Spark 3.0.2.
