Active Directory - Config?

My second install, this time trying to use the Active Directory connection…

Server Type: Active Directory

Host: server.compName.local Port: 389 (defaults to it)

Base DN: ???

When I test, I get the error: Invalid DN syntax or naming violation.

I use the name of the top node in our AD: compName.local

Any AD advice for this newbie…?

To make things really easy (and user your entire domain )

use the following

if your domain was mydomain.com put "dc=mydomain, dc=COM "

Hi Paul,

there are also a lot of examples in this forum so you could also take a look there or search for “adminDN”, as this may cause the next trouble for you. You need to specify a full DN (read-only rights are fine) and not “administrator” there.
