When asked for an admin account and password, I used a user name with a dash.
That seemed ok to set up the account but login removes the dash. Is there a way to remove the character limitation on the admin user name?
Is the only option to rerun setup and not use the dash?
What exactly do you try to do? How do you run into this problem? The typical Openfire setup screen (shown below) does not allow you to choose a username for the admin user (it will be ‘admin’), so it is not even possible to try and add a dash in the account name there.
I have tested creating a new user called ad-min after setup, and give that user admin privileges. That seems to work. I can log in with the new user.
