After decompressing the latest openfire installation package under CentOS and starting, no info.log, error.log, etc. are generated, only stdout.log

try chmod -R 755 /var/log/openfire
and check if openfire is running as “openfire” user…
and check if /var/log/openfire belongs to group openfire and user openfire

My openfire is run by root. Does openfire not support root
When I use openfire.openfire, the user still does not generate info.log, error.log, debug.log, all.log, warn.log, but only stdout.log and stderror.log
I think it’s the system environment variable. I use the compressed package to decompress and run

Normaly the installation script (RPM) creates the user “openfire” for running the service.
I think your issue is still a permission thing.
Which permissions are set to /var/log/openfire and who is the directorys owner?
By the way what do you mean with “I use the compressed package to decompress and run”?
I assume you are using the rpm package (latest release)?

I found a solution. I downloaded “openfire_4_6_4.tar.gz” officially, unzipped it and executed the openfire.sh script in the bin \ directory to generate logs such as info.log
It has nothing to do with user permissions
