Allowing a user in a workgroup to talk to users in a domain

This may not even be an issue with Wildfire, but I wanted to see if anyone else has come across this issue. I have a couple users on computers that are in a workgroup outside of my domain. I tested from a computer that is on the same subnet as the Wildfire server and logged in using an AD account and was able to chat without any problems. My user that is in a different subnet cannot log in to chat from a workgroup. My domain spans six different subnets and I have no problems chatting within the domain as long as the computer is a member of the domain.

I am running Wildfire 2.5.1 and using Pandion 2.5. Windows Server 2003. All computers are Windows XP SP2

Never mind…I am in Dallas, and I have done more research and found that my users in a workgroup in Charlotte aren’‘t even on the network. They are outside of the network on a hub. That is why they couldn’'t chat using an AD account.
