Does jive support server broadcasts?

The ability to send a message to all connected sessions? Yes, it does. The option is available in the admin console.

Broadcasting from clients isn’'t currently supported. Which JEP would this use?

I am not sure of the JEP. All I know is that PSI has an “ADMIN” section where you can send server messages and MOTD. JAJC also has the ability to broadcast to groups. PSI also has a XML trace feature so here is the output from that.

Supposedly this can only be done by “admin users”

Either way this is a feature we have really come to rely on with ICQ and it would be great to have it in jabber

I added a feature request for this – JM-21. JM-22 is somewhat related as well.
