Bug? CJK(chinese only) support in Openfire(Community Edition)

Hi, all.

The situation is:

I created a new user in admin console: http://127.0.0.1:9090/, then wrote the id

in english, but the username was in chinese.

After i restart openfire server, the username was changed automatic, it was ‘???’ now.

Is it a bug? or a misktake made by me?

PS: how can i tranlate openfire from english into chinese(simp)? and how can i be a

partner/reseller/agent in China mainland?

Thanks very much.

Hey MichaelBibby,

I would guess that your DB or JDBC driver is not properly configured to stored Chinese characters. Have you configured your DB to store content in UTF8 format? And if using MySQL then have you configured your JDBC URL to use UTF8?

Fixed. Thanks dombiak_gaston.

http://www.igniterealtime.org/builds/openfire/docs/latest/documentation/translat or-guide.html for the translation issue.

I’m not sure if JiveSoftware is interested in any resellers while partners or agents may be fine. I guess that Matt would be the right person to contact to.
