Cannot share VC

Hi all,

I followed all the instructions when installing the ofmeet plugins, got them configured and setup. I’m on Openfire Server v4.0.2, on a Server 2008 box with MySQL. I’ve got LDAP binding in place.

I can navigate to https://myserver:7443/ofmeet

Type the name of the new conference room and proceed. I get my own webcam/mic etc…

When I click share I get the dreaded “Your conference is currently being created…”

No rooms appear in the Openfire admin page, under the meetings section.

Below is an extract from my stderror.log (I created a new room called “reds”).

2016.09.06 04:07:40 org.jitsi.jicofo.openfire.FocusComponent - Focus request for room: reds@conference.MYSERVER

I couldn’t find any reference to the room name in any of the other log files.

Any help, much appreciated!

Thanks

I should add the plugin version i’m on is v0.3.9

It tried upgrading to the latest available on GTIHub (v0.3.23) - but that was all over the place! The VC control buttons would appear at the screen you type the room name in, then wouldn’t let me progress from there into the room.

I’ve currently removed that and gone back to v.0.3.9

Thanks

Incase anyone has the same question (seen as though nobody else responded in over a month)

The answer partially lies here:
Re: Openfire 3.10 Jan 8th 2014 + Ofmeet 0.0.7 Could Not Start

Specifically the following:

  • Create user: focus@ (local user or in the user backend, LDAP/AD).
  • Set the following system property via Web Admin Console (Server -> Server Manager -> System Properties), and value the password of the user focus@: org.jitsi.videobridge.ofmeet.focus.user.password
  • Configure the focus user as “conference admin” via Web Admin Console (Group Chat -> Group Chat Settings -> Administrators).

I’d done the first two - but couldn’t get to the last one as the location has changed on Openfire v4.0.2 (the version i’m on).

It turns out I had to create a new, persistent conference called “conference” - THEN make the ‘focus’ user the admin of THAT conference.

To set the admin of that particular conference is (Group Chat -> Group Chat Settings -> Select the “conference” room from the list -> Service Options -> Service Properties -> Administrators).

Note: I also changed a few settings for the “conference” room in “Default Room Settings” - I made it persistent and allowed occupants to invite other users.

Now it creates the URL as it should and others can join.

Thanks
