"Certificate Installed"... but it's not!

Hey everyone,

Using Openfire 3.6.4 I am trying to install a signed cert I purchased from a CA. In the web interface, I paste the key into the appropriate box, and the cert and the CAbundle into the second box. When I submit, I am told that the certificate was installed and I should restrat the server. But the list of certifctes is empty, and when I restart I am told that one or more certs are missing. Any ideas?

This can happen if the root certificate of the CA providing the certificate is not in the truststore. The best way to check is to get their root certificate and use keytool to re-add it to the truststore. If it’s already there, it will tell you it is and ask if you want to re-import it. But my guess is that it’s not there.
