I am running Spark 2.8.3 on Ubuntu 18.04. I don’t have any option to see the chat history. I looked at spark.properties and there also I could not find anything relevant. Any idea what is happening?

Please explain with more details where exactly you are not seeing history (in the chat window, in history viewer). Also, do you have history enabled in File > Preferences > Chat - Disable chat history (should be unchecked).
