Clustering with Open Source Openfire?

I know that there was a beta version for clustering available that was implemented into the enterprise addition. I was curious though if anyone had familiarity with clustering with the open source version? I wanted to try scaling a couple servers using clustering, but can’t seem to find much information about doing it without buying the enterprise edition. If anyone could help point me in the right direction to configure a cluster, I would greatly appreciate it. Is there a plugin that is available for purchase that would allow clustering on the open source perhaps?

Hi Brandon,

there is indeed a plugin available for purchase that would allow clustering on the open source. And guess what - it’s the Enterprise Plugin.

This plugin was available during beta and I guess one can get a 30 days trial version (from sales@…) without problems if you just want to take a look at it. You may want to mention how many nodes your cluster has to avoid to get only a 2-node license.
