Connection manager not about to connect

Hi, I’m new to xmpp and have just deployed Openfire in our LAN. I want to make this availiable to our users who are connecting from remote locations so have deployed a connection manager instance in our DMZ.

Every time I start the connection manager it fails to connect with the following error:

2012.05.17 15:09:04 [org.jivesoftware.multiplexer.ConnectionWorkerThread.createConnection(Connectio nWorkerThread.java:242)

I can see the packets leaving the connection manager machine and arriving on the Openfire Server so have proved the firewall is allowing traffic on port 5262.

Any ideas what preventing the connection from being established?
