I have an install that is tied to Active Directory. I’‘m wondering if there’'s a way to specify the users that can log on to the admin console in Active Directory rather than in the xml config file?

That is a nice feature request. Currently the only way is to specify the list of users that will be admins in the wildfire.xml file. With your request you will need to specify a filter that returns the list of users that match your search criteria.
If you have some Java knowledege we can guide you on the changes that you will need to implement (that would be the quickest way to get this feature).
