CS 2.5b1 - new vs. read discussions/documents

Hi,

on page http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/index.jspa all links to discussions are still bold (even when read) while on page http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/community/support/openfire_(formerly_wil dfire)_support?view=discussions all links use a normal font.

Is this the desired behaviour or can one tune this to display new or modified discussions bold and the others with a normal font?

LG

PS: I did click on the tags bug_report and clearspace and my brwoser did insert “[DocumentBodyStart:9db9d3aa-9f10-47dd-878e-db2ca0d2129f] [DocumentBodyStart:18d30ee5-5402-4785-bd43-5fbc4ffb18cf]” in the tags field. This did look a little bit weird. I did replace the text with “bug_report clearspace” there and did then click on “bug”, so it is hopefully converted to something useful. Using Firefox 2.0.x

PPS: This thread is a question and should encourage you to answer for points and help me to track answers (;

Edited: The broken link may be another problem.

Thanks for reporting the url thing! I’m answering this in pieces because I want to test some things. =)

The tags thing is so bizarre! Reporting back. Thanks!

As for the bolding, I’m pretty sure I can tweak that in the theme. I don’t see any bolding or not bolding for things that are read vs not read. Am I reading you right in that you just want them to be consistent?

Argh,

the “Back” button is also “broken”. I did hit back by accident and did lose my reply. I did not get a popup warning and using “Forward” didn’t bring the input back. This did work fine with the Wiki editor.

I don’t see any bolding or not bolding for things that are read vs not read.

Right, this is bad.

Am I reading you right in that you just want them to be consistent?

No, I want to see new/modified/updated threads by looking at the font style, “bold” did mean “new” within CS1.x within the discussions view. After reading or replying they did convert to “normal” style within the discussions overview (http://…?view=discussions). See ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs

This did never work on the main page and when using http://…?view=overview.

Uploading images did fail with an error, see ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs (I have this problem also with CSX1.x, so maybe a Firefox issue).

Regarding bolding and back button, I’ll report that back.

Regarding the image upload, I can not duplicate that and I also use Firefox. I’ll report it but without a reproducibility I don’t know how we’ll be able to fix it. =/

Could you email me an image you were trying to upload that failed this way?

What locale do you have set? (language I guess in preferences)

What version of Firefox is this, what locale on the system, and what OS?

Hi Daniel,

every image fails, JPG, PNG, … - http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/8168/aaafu2.png was named aaa.png before upload. As far as I can tell this error occurs immediately after selecting the file. So no upload / HTTP POST takes place, it looks like a Javascript / SWF problem. Firebug does not detect a script error, so it’s really hard to debug, especially as you use events to trigger the click on “Upload images” (id=“SWFUpload_0BrowseBtn”).

Hrm. I don’t have any thoughts on this, but I’ll report back! BTW had never heard of Tamper Data, gonna be installing that myself! =)

Hi Daniel,

it would be great if one would care about the style which is applied to new / read discussions. It’s nearly impossible to track new or updated discussions so a lot of posts will likely be missed (ignored).

What are you talking about? =)

Am I reading you right in that you just want them to be consistent?

No, I want to see new/modified/updated threads by looking at the font style, “bold” did mean “new” within CS1.x within the discussions view. Solved, finally.
