Debian 6.0 crashes when I try to stop openfire 3.7.1

Hi,

I have OpenFire 3.7.1 instaled on Debian 6.0, with JVM 1.6.

When I try to stop OpenFire (/etc/init.d/openfire stop) my SO crashes and restarts. Can someone help me?

I also observe that eventually my SO restarts and I think it is because openfire.

When I say SO, I mean OS.

Unless the openfire init.d script has a bug in it on Debian, I have a hard time believing it is causing the OS to go down. Does syslog log anything useful?

Can you do:

sh -x /etc/init.d/openfire status

Where /etc/init.d/openfire is the location of the script. If that works, try doing stop instead of status and post the output.
