Display name not always the same

I have Openfire 3.6.4 and Spark 2.6.0 beta 2 installed.

  1. I created about a dozen users after I installed the server.

  2. Installed the Spark client for our users.

  3. The users wanted to see our business system username next to the display name. When I created the users I put in John Doe as their display name. The users wanted to see John Doe - DLR111. I changed this on the server.

The - DLR111 shows for some and not for others. I can’t find any common thread. They are all using the same version of Java 6 - Update 15. Sometimes exiting Spark and logging back in will display it, but not all the time. Is this a cache issue? Should I clear a certain cache on the server? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

You can try deleting that user’s account (who has wrong contacts names showing) and create a fresh account. If user renames his contacts then they will stay the same no matter the changes on the server side. Probably there are some other ways to get them stuck, other than renaming, bu that’s the one i know.
