Recently there was a problamatic release of Adium (1.2.6) which sends invalid XML, forcing other Adium users to disconnect. This has been a nightmare to clean up and manage.
This would have been greatly simplified I we could ban specific client versions using the Client Control features on the server. Currently they only allow you to permit/ban all versions of a client.

PS the adium developers have been pointing at Openfire as the source of the bug causing the disconnects.
