Fetching Presence Information?

RFC 2778 specifies 2 ways for collecting Presence Information from a Presence service : it defines watchers as fetchers and subscribers. I’‘d like to use a fetcher for my application, that is to say simply requesting the current value of someone’‘s Presence Information (without having to subscribe to it, because I don’'t want to receive notifications all the time). Is it possible with Jive Messenger, and how ?
