File and image transfer not working

I have a brand new install of Openfire 3.3.2 and Spark 2.5.4 clients and I can’'t get the file transfer function to work.

Chatting works just fine but if I try to send a file or screen capture I get the message:

The user is offline. Will auto-send “image_TP.png” when user comes back online.

File transfer proxy is enabled. Is there something in the configuration that I missed?

Update: Transfers started working after I added the user to my roster. If I start a chat and send a file before

adding them to my roster, I get the offline message.

Is this the way it’'s supposed to work?

I filed an issue about this nearly a year ago:

SPARK-311

Maybe, someday there will be a fix for this.
