Hello, I’m using Openfire 3.4.1. We are using the integrated authentication (not LDAP). When creating groups and adding users in, groups only show up for member users on IM clients (Spark and Pidgin) when I enable contact group list sharing and select “Share group with additional users” and “All Users”.
Is this normal behavior, or have I mucked something up?
It’s not normal. These groups should show up for everyone.
Any ideas of where I should be looking for configuraiton issues?
Hard to say. What is this custom authentification system? Are you pulling users from there or adding them manually? Can you check existing shared group settings again and make sure that sharing is enabled? Do group members see their group’s display name that you have specified in sharing settings?
