Groups and sub groups

Hi guys,

is it anyway possible to add sub groups to existing groups.

Like:

New York (main group)

Manhatten (sub group)

Jon Doe (alias)

Bronx (sub group)

Peter Doe (alias)

This is known as nested groups and Openfire doesn’t support them directly. But you can achieve this in your client, if your client support nested groups (like Exodus, Spark). This is achieved by special naming of a shared group. E.g. if you give a sharing name like “New York :: Manhattan”, this group will show up as a group Manhattan and as a sub group of New York group in Spark. But on server it will be on the same level as New Yourk group. You can call it virtual nesting.
