How can I alias my own username?

I’m using OpenFire in Non-LDAP mode with shared contact lists. Whenever I start a chat with somebody, their name appears in the chat window as their full name, i.e. “Joe Smith”, but my own username appears as the full jlarsen@servername.domain.com. Is there a way to get my own username to appear as just “Josh Larsen” or “Josh”? Is this an OpenFire setting or a client setting (digsby in my case)?

It’s a client setting usually. Haven’t used Digsby, so i’m not sure, but i think this must be somethere in the options. Like nickname or display name.
