How to install OpneFire on Windows 2008 64 bit server?
I read all posts but there an old post that doesnt work anymore , so if someone
know how to install OpenFire on Win 2008 64 that will be very helpfuly to me.
And some one puts this post as answer on early posts about same subject
but its about memory consumption not about how to install OpenFire (http://community.igniterealtime.org/message/208794#208794)

This question is not going to be answer ,i prosume because this product is not optimized for 64 bit Windows.
Also I ask developers are they planning something to do with this bug or they suggest as to find something that works on 64bit platforms?
Just to clarify, have you tried to install it and what happened? I’m not sure whether it is supposed to work on 64bit or not. Developers won’t answer as there are very few volunteers working on it in their spare time and they don’t usually watch forums. If it doesn’t work for you, then i suppose you can search for some other server.
I currently have OpenFire running on an SBS 2011 box, which is 64-bit Windows 2008 R2. We have also had a few clients with it running on SBS 2008, which is 64-bit Windows 2008.
What kind of issues are you running into? I understand that it’s a 32-bit program running in a 64-bit environment, but it should run just fine.
When i start OpenFire_3_7_1.exe it doesnt complete install at all
All i got is message in log file which part says:

Before this error in log file everything is ok , so i am posting here only part with errors.

Could you please try to install and execute via Administrator account? Please take note that “Administrator” account i describe here is not some other accounts in Administrators group or proviledge, but is real Administrator account of your windows.

Lionel you was right ! I started exe file with Run As Administrator and installation ended successfully. I also manage to setup database on Oracle server and now i am testing it.
If something goes wrong i will post it here.
