In Pidgin (2.63 Windows), when I log in (OpenFire 3.6.4 WS2008) with Admin credentials, and I right click on an account, I get a slew of options that are not available to standard accounts. However, I don’t see a broadcast message option. I downloaded Spark to see what it was able to do. I found that I could send broadcast messages from Spark whether using an Admin account or not. So I really have two questions:
-
How can I broadcast a message to OpenFire users in Pidgin?
-
Why are non-Admin Spark users able to send broadcast messages?
All accounts are read-only as they are fed from Active Directory.
I see that there is a broadcast plugin, but I’m not sure how that works, and I don’t believe I had it installed when I did the broadcast from Spark. When it was installed, there were no broadcast options in Pidgin.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
