how to setup open fire in a LAN of windows machines,i can connect two clients to server but icannot chat using these clients an exception occures Error trying to connect to remote server :username[DNS lookup username:5269]
openfire needs to be setup on a machine with a static IP address and preferably a DNS FQDN (e.x. chatserver.domain.com). If you do not have a way to give it a FQDN then you should name it with the static IP. You then use the IP for the server name when connecting via the clients.
