HTTP Error 500 on Windows 2012 server

Hello, I am new to this software, but I downloaded the newest release of OpenFire and got it installed with LDAP without any issues. This error comes up when I go to login. I installed on a Windows 2012 server.

Thanks

JC

As i’ve said in the blog, i don’t remember anyone reporting running Openfire on Windows Server 2012. Though this doesn’t mean nobody is doing this, just not bragging about it.

Can’t say what happening. Maybe this is Java not supporting something on this Windows version. I suppose you don’t run any other Java apps on this server to check if they work fine.

So if I want to use this software on Windows 2012 Remote Desktop Services, what would you recommend for this software to be installed on? Windows7 32 bit and install the client on the Remote Desktop Servers?

Thanks

JC

What i can confirm working is win7 both 32 and 64 bit, winxp, win2003/2008 32 bit. I suggest to test spark (if you are going to use it as a client). Maybe it won’t run either.

I have tried installing the OpenFire on winxp 32bit and after I get though the wizard and login using an LDAP account, I still get the HTTP ERROR 500. Is there something that I should be doing different with Windows devices for this install?

It probably has something to do with LDAP config in your Openfire or the connection with LDAP. Don’t have much experience with it myself. You can check whether it works with the local database (no LDAP integration) to rule with OS out.
