This is just a note for anyone evaluating IM+ (IM+ Pro in my case) on Android 3.2 and wondering why the hell it won’t connect to a private server. Straight from the IM+ FAQ:

“Please note that if your Jabber server is only accessible within your local network, IM+ will not be able to connect to it, as IM+ connects via our gate servers.”
