If you’re used to IRC, then those interested in anything related to the topic. Freenode has a ton of topic support channels, and has become the de facto meeting place for technical gatherings. Freenode features both open and closed source projects. I wonder how difficult it would be to establish a gateway or bridge between the official XMPP channel? IRC clients are much better at filtering out the noise caused by join/parts and other in non-conversation channel status broadcasts.
