Is there anyway to use Wildfire as a Chat server?

Would it make any sense to use it as an IRCD like server. Basically, develop a chat client that just uses the MUC functionality of Wildfire. Has it been done before?

Hi Jean,

there is a web application called MUCkl which uses just the MUC functionality, so the client is a browser.

I have no idea why you would like to do this, a normal ircd does not offer encrypted connections so this may be a reason.

i have successfully used MUCkl with wildfire to setup a web based chatroom.
