We are looking to provide sales support to our customers via an online chat option. Jabber was suggested to us. The point would to be to add a “chat now” button on the web site that would connect to a sales reps IM here at the office. Is Jabber suited for this? Is it overkill to put in a Jabber Server? Is the client a program on a users computer, or can it be a part of a web page?
