Hi,

We are running Jive Messenger 2.1.2 and have set up Openfire 3.5.2 on a new server and are hoping to copy the MySQL database.

If the old database is copied to the new server, will then running the Openfire install update the database schema maintaining the data already in the tables?

Is there another way to do this?

That is generally the best way to do it, copy the data to the new server, let openfire upgrade it itself. =) It knows it’s own logistics of upgrading and should run like a charm! As always, definitely test it, be ready to back out “just in case” something goes crazy. It shouldn’t. Just need to say that. =D
