Jive Messenger 2.3.1 Released

Jive Messenger 2.3.1 has been url=http://www.jivesoftware.org/messengerreleased. Jive Messenger is already a fast server but with this release it just got faster. Read the url=http://www.jivesoftware.org/builds/messenger/docs/latest/changelog.htmlchange log to learn the complete list of changes.

The new release requires that the Registration, Broadcast and User Import/Export plugins be updated. Get the new versions from url=http://www.jivesoftware.org/messenger/plugins.jsphere.

I tried upgrading to 2.3.1 by using the rpm and running ‘‘rpm -Uvh jive_messenger_2_3_1.rpm’’. Now when I go to the admin console I get the page asking about my language settings and when I click Continue, I get this error.

I think the error 500 means an access denied but if I look in the setup folder, this file is not there.

Also, I hope that this did not screw up all of my settings and user accounts. I cannot see where upgrading would cause this.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

OK, disregard this post. I found my problem. Two actually.

 1. The server was renamed (Linux) and never rebooted. I rebooted the server so that it came back up with the correct hostname and now the initial setup starts.

 2. When starting the initial setup, I was getting the error message about the “home directory”. After reading this post http://www.jivesoftware.org/community/thread.jspa?messageID=103134&#103134 I changed the ownership on the jive_messenger folder using chown -R jive.jive /opt/jive_messenger and was able to complete the initial setup.

Sorry for the post.
