Join and leave messages in SparkWeb Conference Rooms

Is there a way to remove the “user has joined” and “user has left” messages I SparkWeb conference rooms?

I would love to be able to suppress these also!

No way currently. I have filed this a few days ago - SW-81 http://www.igniterealtime.org/issues/browse/SW-81 . But SparkWeb is not maintained currently.

Thanks Wr00t!

I would like to revisit this request after nearly a year to have a way to supress the join and leave messages in SparkWeb. I know that most of my users find it annoying to see these join and leave messages in chat rooms. It look like the request for this capability was denied: http://www.igniterealtime.org/issues/browse/SW-81

Can someone take another look at this request or is SparkWeb still unmaintaned?

Would anyone else like to see a way to remove these messages in SparkWeb?

Any suggestions on how I could make this change myself?

Thanks in advance for help.

It hasn’t been denied. It’s just that this project is still unmaintained and i don’t see any hopes for this to change.

That’s unfortunate that such a product has nobody to maintain it. I am planning to deploy Sparkweb as part of an Openfire rollout at a University. I guess I will be on my own. I assume that I can edit the Sparkweb source and make this change myself, right? Do you know of any web based Jabber client that is maintained?

Well, Dele has made his own version (Red5) of SparkWeb, but recently he hasnt updated it for a long either. You can search for it in Red5 forum section. Also there is a link to download in my how-to document http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/docs/DOC-1553

Yes, source is available, but i’m not sure it is the latest source in the source repository. I recall someone said that it doesnt match the latest swf file available. But you can edit it and compile your own. But i think there is no freeware tool for that. You need Flex i think. I don’t know much about web clients (don’t need such yet), especially about their maintenance level. It seems that most of them lack it.
