Looking into a large-scale deployment of a back-end Jabber environment. I want the ability to house servers in two or three data centers for geographic load balancing and redundancy. I would also like to have at least two nodes in each data center. All servers would be hosting the same domains.
Is this possible with Openfire? I know that Openfire Enterprise’s clustering capability went away when it went open-source (and Coherence did not).
We could front-end the servers with local and global load balancers for connectivity and failover. A central LDAP infrastructure is available to the servers as well. What other components would need to be replicated and synchronized real-time to complete the picture?
