LDAP authorisation via Clearspace

Do users have to be ‘enabled’ in Clearspace to be able to connect to Openfire when using Clearspace integration, and Clearspace is setup to use LDAP?

Also, how do I create an Openfire admin user, when the user accounts are from Clearspace?
