I’ll say lost … I have all the system type passwords recorded but the one I have recorded is no longer recognised so my question is there a way to reset the admin password with access to the server or do I have to blow the whole thing away ?
the easiest way would be to:

stop the openfire server
-
edit the openfire.xml setup tag to read <setup>false</setup>
-
save file
-
start the openfire server
-
step through the config again (data will be preserved) with the web admin page
