Mac OS X Build

i was in the wrong directory

after typing: ./messenger start a file called nohup.out was created and send to my home-directory. In Safari (http://127.0.0.1:9090/) the messenger start, but tell me "home not found. please define “messengerHome”.

so i think i had to do what is writen in the install-guide: jive-messengerd – script to run Jive Messenger as a service. You must manually configure this script. See the comments in the script for additional details.

this script is in /usr/bin/jive_messenger/bin/extra? ok. i should copy the script to /etc/init.d but such a folder cant be found. i create one, and copy the script into it.

next step is # You can find your default runlevel directory by typing:

  1. grep default /etc/inittab[/i]

the terminal give me: no such file or directory ???

the messenger is in this directory: /usr/bin/ive_messenger/bin/ so in which way i had to edit the script, and type commands to the terminal, and maybe copy files to other places?

thanks a lot

Hi kleinerschwabe,

Because of the way OSX is setup, I don’‘t think jive-messengerd script is going to work. I’'ve used the messenger script in the jive_messenger/bin directory without any problems, which version of Messenger are you working with?

Thanks,

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

for one moment it works, dont know why. And because i want to change something in the configuration i had to stop the server, and then it wont start again.

after playing around a little bit i can start it again, so i hope i will find out how to start it always when i want it to do.

So thanks a lot for your help and your patience

greetings
