Messenger not start

i installed JM on Redhat, and as root ./startup.sh, but the machine didn’'t go back to prompt state, just left message as below:

Jive Messenger 2.0.1 Started

and halted.

Can u help me pls?

oh, i am sorry, maybe i was too impatient. in fact it worked just well. but maybe the startup shell should better don’'t occupy the console.

Simply use “startup.sh &” to launch in the background. However, you’‘ll probably want to use nohup instead so that the process doesn’'t get killed when you log off.

maybe this question is foolish, but how can i close my console but leave messenger runnnig?
