Migrate Openfire to new Server and New SQL server

Dear All

Current I run openfire V 3.9.1 on windows 2008 r2 server, with SQL express 2008, and link our user with active directory, I plan to move it to Windows server 2012 R2 with SQL express 2017,

at Test system I backup SQL DB and configure file under folder “conf” and “resource\security” to new server ( on new server I install open fire 4.2.3 ) and restore Database to new server, about process restore is no error, but when I go to User, and group. it no information about user and group same as old server, please help me how to make configure is same

I suggest that you do this in two steps:

  • First, move the system to the new hardware.
  • Only then, perform the upgrade from v3.9.1 to the latest release.

This will help to isolate any problems.
