Has anyone had any probems with the MSN feature not working in IM Gateway. Everything else works fine, but for some reason MSN doens’t seem to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i have the same issue, noone is shown online. it appears to be the same with gmail now?
I even upgraded?

The MSN server send a update message to openfire server and MSN Tansport do not recognize it. After the session is lost by time-out.
MSN is trying to force the Live Messenger down your throat, or so it appears by that error. Have you tried logging in at least once with the real MSN chat client.
I made mine somewhat working, it appeared that something went wrong with the email adresses?
When I logged onto meebo.com it also appeared that i only had 6 contacts there? That was about a third of my contacts.
In Hotmail i could see that somehow my contacts where divided up, messenger-contacts and regular contacts?
In the end I did added the ones missing manually through iChat and it seems to work now (knock on wood)…

I can logging with the real MSN chat client. The failure hapen only i try use the MSN Transport.

I do not get this message on my server, but I am not running Openfire 3.6 on my production box, which also means I am running a lower version of the gateway. That message though implies they are trying to kick off an auto-download of MSN Live.

Possible solution
The connection start in the port 1863 and after the port 443 is used.
I just configured my firewall to allow the traffic on this port betwen openfire server and messenger.hotmail.com. The MSN transport return to work normally.
Not sure when it started (upgraded to 3.6.1 today) but MSN not working anymore.

Well, I disabled then re-enabled SSL in server (port) properties and now MSN works.
I cannot understand. Were you changed the settings?
