I just noticed an odd quirk last night, when you join a MUC group and
right-click your own ID and change it to something else for that group.
When your client goes idle, your nick will change back to your original
ID. When it wakes up, it switches to the nick you selected. At first
I thought this was only a GUI thing. But other people in the group said
that they saw the nick change too.
My only guess can be that when the client goes idle, that the search
for your current id is done via id & presence, rather than purely via id.
Can this be the case?
This is not really that big a thing, but it can be terribly annoying to the
other people in the MUC group when your ID changes every few minutes.
