Multiple domains in one Openfire server

Hi guys!

I’d like to know if there is some way to setup one Openfire server to manage multiple domains (or is the Dev team is going to consider this feature?).

For example, if my server has the IP 192.168.100.1, and I can make my DNS to point domains xmpp.mycompany.com, jabber.anotherone.com, im.thelastone.org to that IP, and i want to manage these XMPP accounts: user1@xmpp.mycompany.com, user2@jabber.anotherone.com, user3@im.thelastone.org, etc… Can I do all this with one single Openfire server, i.e. not having to install Openfire in three different machines to manage three different XMPP domains?

I’ve read the following posts and my requirement seems quite impossible:

Please help solve this issue.

Openfire does not support mutliple domains currently. Whatever domain you name the server is the only domain the user accounts will have.

Thanks, mtstravel,

I also kept searching and found a JIRA issue, JM-919 (http://www.igniterealtime.org/issues/browse/JM-919 ), which I already voted for.

I hope this feature is soon developed.

Luis
